When I arrived in Finland for the first time, my tutor helped me a lot by showing me where to buy all the basic things at affordable prices. Even better, I can start looking for stuffs on Facebook when I was still in my home country.
As I live in Kortepohja, I can get almost everything from the nearby SPR Kirppis or on the second-hand group on Facebook just by contacting the sellers and agree on the time to come to pick up the items. Most of them are located around the student village or city center, or we can arrange meeting at the university.
In Finland recycle and reuse are highly encouraged and purchasing second-hand items is really popular such as furniture, clothing, books, accessories, dishes and electronics. Therefore, it is easier to live on budget, especially when you are coming a student city like Jyväskylä.
There are several ways to giving new life for useful things, whether going to:
